Vincent Berenz obtained a master's degree in chemical engineering from Ecole Superieure de Chimie Organique et Minerale (France). He also holds a master of business engineering in bioinformatics from Ecole de Biologie Industrielle (France). He worked four years in the field of drug discovery and chemoinformatics, first at CEREP, USA; then at Pharmadesign, Japan. In 2012 he completed his PhD in intelligent interactions technologies from the University of Tsukuba (Japan) and subsequently conducted postdoctoral research at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute/Toyota Collaborative Center (Japan). Since 2015, he is software engineer at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems (initially in the Autonomous Motion Department and currently at the Empirical Inference Department).
